The artists create one-of-a-kind wheel thrown, hand-built and sculptural works in stoneware, earthenware and porcelain in a diverse range of styles, techniques and glazes from kitchen items and table ware, to classic and funky décor, to museum-quality pieces.
Many of Denman Island’s potters established themselves on the island in the early 1970s, as a peaceful way to make a living on this rural island paradise.

Sandra’s most recent work has been fired in the newly completed soda kiln. Soda firing is a high temperature atmospheric firing in which the flame vaporizes the soda ash which then is attracted to and combines with the silica and alumina in the clay body resulting in a uniquely glazed surface on the pot.
